LIPODISOLVE
TREATMENT INDICATIONS
- Lipodissolve is very safe when injected in small amounts in
appropriate patients.
- Patients of any age with good skin elasticity and small localized
fatty excess accumulations are the best candidates.
- Well defined and demarcated areas of cellulite can be improved.
- Soft fat is more responsive than hard or fibrous fat.
TREATMENT PROTOCOL
- Blood tests are obtained which evaluate kidney and liver functions.
- Preoperative photographs will be taken.
- No anesthesia is needed
- You will be asked to mark the areas you see as excessive and review
these with Dr. Romano.
- This treatment is performed in the office after which you can return
to your day’s activities.
- 2-4 treatment sessions will often be needed to see the end result
depending on size and location.
- You must agree to be seen for follow up and understand 1-3 more
treatments may be needed.
- Areas for treatment will be marked and markings for injection
pattern (grid) will be applied
- Very small needles will be used for multiple injections of the
chemical in the areas noted
- The process takes about 30-45 minutes in total.
SIDE EFFECTS AND COMPLICATIONS
- Some nausea and mild diarrhea may occur in the first 24 hours but
are mostly rare.
- Itching, burning, redness, bruising and swelling may occur in the
treatment area for the first 3-10 days
- Local and adjacent tissues such as muscles, skin and nerves can be
affected if the solution diffuses beyond where it is injected.
- Blood clot, infection, allergic reaction, contour irregularity are
rare
- After completion of your treatments, the need for surgical
intervention is rare
- Poor cosmetic result is rare
YOU CAN EXPECT
- Burning, itching and redness in the treatment area that is
noticeable for the first 15-90 minutes then decreases over the next 3-10
days.
- Bruising, soreness, swelling and a feeling of “jelly-like” in the
treated area later in the day.
- Some noticeable changes in the contour will be visible starting
around day 10 and very noticeable at 4-6 weeks, and usually complete by
about 8 weeks.
- Blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels may improve.
- There MAY BE some protective effects on the liver, heart, and brain
tissues, but this is currently under study and not yet proven.
