Laser Resurfacing
Laser Resurfacing is an exciting technology for very accurate and
controlled removal of fine, medium and even deep wrinkles, spots, and loose
skin. It involves a carbon dioxide energy source that specifically reacts
with the surface skin layer to accurately plane off several cell layers at a
time. This is regulated by the amount of energy dialed into the laser, which
is matched to your skin type and surface. The doctor can visualize the
amount of skin removed on each "pass" with the laser, and also visualize the
amount and nature of the skin left behind. If there are more wrinkles still
in the healthy dermal layer, then additional "passes" with the laser can be
performed until the wrinkles or spots literally disappear before your eyes.
Healing time is longer than other wrinkle removal modalities, but the
treatment is more complete and lasts longer and has other benefits. A good
skin preparation program is recommended. |
